One of the oldest family-owned hotels in London, luxury boutique hotel Flemings Mayfair opened in 1851 and was originally converted from 13 Georgian townhouses. Part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, the award-winning hotel offers unrivalled luxury accommodation in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods moments from Green Park, Piccadilly and a short walk from Buckingham Palace.

Following an impressive multimillion refurbishment completed in September 2016, the hotel features new-look deluxe bedrooms, suites and apartments with elegant interior design; a stunning Indian-inspired Drawing Room serving afternoon tea; the highly acclaimed restaurant Ormer Mayfair by Michelinawarded chef Shaun Rankin; and Manetta’s, a stylish bar serving up sophisticated cocktails.

Opulent Interiors

Showcasing the very best in contemporary style, interior designers Tully Filmer have turned every room into a serenely calm and restful haven, with three-metre-high ceilings, glamorous 1930’s inspired décor in shades of bronze and soft greys, period features and bespoke furniture in silver stained fiddle-back sycamore.

The hotel has a strong partnership with celebrity photographer Dr. Andy Gotts MBE
(http://www.andygotts.com), who is most noted for his black and white portraits of the world’s most famous actors, singers and fashion luminaries. Unique and exclusive portraits adorn the walls featuring never-before-seen shots of some of his favourite subjects many of whom, including Kylie Minogue and Dame Judi Dench, he photographed in the hotel as part of a new private collection.

Tasteful bathrooms feature stunning mosaic marble floors, bathtubs or rainfall showers and come stocked with luxurious toiletries filled with natural botanicals and essential oils as well as soft bathrobes and slippers.

Some ground floor suites also have the benefit of beautifully landscaped terraces with bespoke furniture, which offer a tranquil, outside space for enjoying a quiet drink or breakfast on a bright morning.

Hidden Extras & Gin Bars

From the hand-stitched, hand-tufted Mattison beds and detailed Chiswick linen to Nespresso coffee machines and complimentary Wi-Fi – Flemings Mayfair is passionate about providing subtle touches that add an extra dash of luxury.

Studio suites boast exclusive mini gin ‘honesty’ bars offering guests self-serve tipples. Designed in conjunction with award-winning ‘Distilled’ authors and spirits experts Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley, each bar contains ten premium gins, including Sipsmith; No.3; Monkey 47, made with an impressive 47 botanicals, German gin; The Botanist; and Dodd’s which features unusual botanicals such as red raspberry
leaf. Traditional ingredients such as classic vermouths of Punt E Mess, and Campari are provided along with cocktail making equipment, recipe cards and advice on signature serves to make the perfect Negroni to Dirty Martini, while an array of eclectic tonics, including ‘Double Dutch’, allow guests to experiment with a take on a classic G&T.

Townhouse, Penthouse & Apartments

Flemings offers a selection of one, two and three-bedroom apartments with private entrances on Clarges Street. A truly luxurious stay is promised in the Penthouse, which sleeps five and boasts a private lift and rooftop terrace for al-fresco drinking, dining and entertaining. The Townhouse on Half Moon Street comprises seven beautifully appointed bedrooms and is available as an entire property or bookable as individual suites.

The Drawing Room

Beautiful to behold and something special to savour – Rankin has been sprinkling some Michelin magic onto a luxury afternoon tea that imbues classic sophistication with simple flavours in the hotel’s stunning Drawing Room. The delectable treats of finger sandwiches with classic flavours, homemade scones with Jersey Chantilly cream and the all-important layer of petit fours, are perfectly paired with either the finest
tea leaves from specialists The East India Company or, for added luxury, a glass of NV ‘Cuvee D’, Devaux, Aube, Champagne.

Fine teas to choose from include Jasmine Pearls, Lis-Han Oolong, spiced Bombay Chai and Flemings’ Signature Breakfast Blend, all served in beautiful Villeroy & Boch crockery against the refined backdrop of The Drawing Room. The building’s Georgian history is reflected in the room’s harmonious proportions with reinstated period detail including 3m ceiling height and sash windows as well as an original Georgian marble fireplace of 1851 providing the focal point of the room. The lavish theme continues with handpainted
De Gournay wall panels depicting evocative scenes of India, a library filled with cultural tomes by Assouline and beautiful artistry from Eileen Schaer.

The Drawing Room Afternoon Tea by Shaun Rankin is served daily from 12:30pm – 5pm for £34.50 per person; or £48.00 per person with a glass of Champagne.

Ormer Mayfair

Celebrated chef Shaun Rankin’s much anticipated restaurant Ormer Mayfair brings expertly executed dishes and impeccable service in a beautifully elegant environment.

Remaining true to his conviction that sustainably-sourced, locally foraged and seasonal produce is absolute – Shaun’s Ormer Mayfair menu bursts with a wonderful bounty of Channel Island and British fare that is simply prepared and cooked to perfection.

Dine

Welcoming diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a range of menu options including satisfying set lunches, seasonal à la carte (including a dedicated vegetarian and vegan section) plus a seven-course tasting menu, Ormer Mayfair can be perfectly tailored to suit any appetite or occasion.

Start with sweet Jersey lobster ravioli in a rich crab and tomato bisque with refreshing shallot salad – one of Rankin’s best known signature dishes and a sure-fire hit for the Mayfair set. Highlight mains include:
Dover sole with smoked salmon, potato and leek risotto, served with crisp quail’s eggs and secreto ofIberico pork with charred calamari, chorizo chutney and puréed Asian pear. Those looking to share a real showstopper can opt for the côte de boeuf and wild mushrooms with beer-cooked shallots, béarnaise sauce and triple-cooked chips. Save room for dessert as choices of chocolate mousse with salted caramel and smoked almonds; apple crumble, white chocolate, caramel and vanilla; and Yorkshire rhubarb, white chocolate and candied ginger will be impossible to resist.

Wines

Ormer Mayfair’s award-winning Director of Wines Andreas Rosendal has previously curated the wine lists in some of the country’s finest restaurants including Brasserie Chavot, Restaurant Sat Bains and The Greenhouse so you can be sure that each plate at Ormer Mayfair is perfectly paired with impeccable wines. The main wine list puts world-renowned classic bins alongside stunning new varietals. Start the meal with something crisp and light from the Sparkling Wine & Champagne Trolley, featuring awardwinning
labels. Italian prosecco and a sherry-based sparkling wine from Spain also add some fizz to the occasion.

Admire

The quintessentially British, 1930’s-inspired space designed by Tony Filmer, is awash with understated glamour and artistry. Exuding subtle sophistication, the dining space is lined with aged oak wood panelling, Carrara and Nero Marquina geometrical, monochrome marble floors, forest green velvet banquettes threaded with gold and British racing green distressed leather chairs. A nod to the coast is in evidence through delicate seashell light shades and a reception desk coated in tanned, shimmering gold fish scales.

From hidden alcoves behind bronze and cast glass screens to long banquettes, the dining space is flexible for those dining alone, a deux or in larger groups. Those in search of mischief can even book what staff affectionately term ‘the naughty table’, a round table hidden by a heavy red velvet curtain.

Private Dining & Wine Tasting

There is no better way to experience Shaun Rankin’s exclusive menu at Ormer Mayfair than to book one of the unique private dining rooms. Suited to any special occasion, elebration, client entertainment or elegant company dinner, the Tyburn Suite seats up to 6, The Half Moon Suite seats up to 12, while The Clarges Suite seats up to 22. The Barrel Room also offers an intimate space for wine tasting events hosted
by award-winning sommelier Andreas Rosendal.

Your Ormer Mayfair experience is expertly overseen by Flemings’ General Manager Henrik Muehle and his handpicked Michelin-awarded team including Head Chef Kerth Gumbs and Food & Beverage Operations Manager Agnieszka Josko.

Manetta’s Bar

Make time before or after your meal to slip away to the plush Manetta’s bar, hidden at the far end of the restaurant. Reviving the name of the original hang-out at Flemings back in the 1930s, the reinvented bar recaptures the surreptitious spirit of a place where spies used to swap secrets and clandestine trysts took place. A dark and sultry colour palette of black upholstery, polished rose gold detailing and jewel red hints
in tactile materials of soft velvet and supple leather exudes sophisticated opulence.

The cocktail menu is inspired by writers Agatha Christie and Gertrude Stein who are also depicted on the walls alongside portraits of James Joyce and Alice B. Toklas in the bold style of Sussex artist Kate Boxer. Seek refreshment from Rose is a Rose is a Rose (Plantation 3 Stars rum, hibiscus liqueur, lime juice, grapefruit juice and egg white) or take Half a Step Outside the Circle (Cherry Heering, blood orange syrup and Devaux Cuvée Champagne). To accompany, savour on a tempting snack from the bar menu including;
truffle mac and cheese, Jersey lobster burger with fries or crispy calamari and siracha dip.
