Stride & Son are celebrating their 125th anniversary with Nick Stride at the helm, great great grandson of co-founder Mr Charles Stride, making us the oldest family run Chartered Surveyors, Estate Agents and Auctioneers in Chichester.
Over the years a huge diversity of properties have been dealt with by our office which originally solely handled farms and agricultural dwellings and now encompasses the whole range of housing including some of the more unusual properties such as an ex-ministry radar tower, houseboats, Nissan huts, beach huts and old railway carriages as well as agricultural and development land.
The thriving estate agency department is headed by Nick Stride FRICS together with Simon Tod, Susie Randall, Gillian Kennett, Tricia Morrish and Saturday staff Denise Henderson and Jeanne Stephenson. Between us we have over 125 years of estate agency experience giving an enormous breadth of local knowledge and a pride in our professional and friendly service. Stride & Son has expanded over time and now boasts four departments working alongside each other: the Estate Agents handling land and property valuations and sales; the Auctioneers & Valuers dealing with contents and effects with auctions every month including fine art, jewellery, furniture, books and ephemera; the Property Management department who look after nearly 1,000 freehold and leasehold properties in the Chichester area, and the Professional Planning and Surveying department for residential and agricultural matters.
